Alabama Private Elementary Day School – Preschool to Grade 8

Highlands is a coeducational day school enrolling 273 students from diverse backgrounds in Preschool–Grade 8. Its mission is to nurture each child’s intellectual, physical, social, and emotional development and to instill self-confidence and a lifelong pursuit of learning, and prepare students for a future in an ever-changing world. The integrated curriculum is designed to meet individual learning styles, provide a strong foundation in the core disciplines, and educate the whole child with a focus on art, music, French, Spanish, Chinese, technology, and physical education. Activities include community outreach, student government, yearbook, photography, greenhouse, drama, scouting for girls and boys, and intramural athletics. The Family Center includes children from 6 weeks to 3 years of age. Extended-day and summer programs are available. Tuition: $8300–$10,565. Financial assistance is available.
