The Academy of the Sacred Heart, a member of the Network of Sacred Heart Schools, is Michigan's oldest independent school, founded in 1851. It is a Catholic, college preparatory day school enrolling approximately 600 girls, age 3 to Grade 12, and boys, age 3 to Grade 8. Students reflect many cultures and faiths from the Detroit area. Coeducational classes in Preschool - Grade 4 focus on the wide span of developmental needs in these formative years. The Academy offers a Middle School for boys, Kensington Hall, and Middle (Grades 5 - 8) and Upper (Grades 9 - 12) Schools for Girls.
